Discover the story of the giraffe

Hooray! The giraffe has arrived!

The packaging for Csinta has changed. It’s now fresher, more playful, and has more character—and for the first time, a new character has appeared on our Hungarian packaging: the giraffe.

It's no coincidence that it's him.

When we were thinking about the new packaging, we weren’t just looking for a cute character. We wanted a character that embodies what Csinta means to us: naturalness, curiosity, playfulness, connection, and a slightly different perspective on the world.

That's how the giraffe came to us.

Why a giraffe, of all things?

The giraffe holds special meaning for us.

One of the well-known symbols of Nonviolent Communication. „Giraffe language” is a metaphor for heartfelt, attentive communication: when we not only hear what the other person is saying, but also try to understand the feelings and needs behind their words.

The giraffe has an extremely large and strong heart, and because of its height, it can see far into the distance. For us, these two qualities have become a very beautiful symbol: to connect with one another wholeheartedly, and at the same time, to look at what is happening to us from a slightly higher, broader perspective.

But there's something else about it that's very mischievous.

He's curious, playful, a bit of an oddball—and he loves to move around.

In bringing the world of Csintás the giraffe to life, a friend of ours, Rita Bende has also joined us. Rita is an animator, and the world of Nonviolent Communication is close to her heart, so we’re especially happy that she’s involved in bringing the giraffes to life in Csinta’s stories. We don’t just want to draw characters: we want the giraffes to have personalities, movements, and stories—and through them, to share a little of what we believe in.

Not just a character on the packaging

If you take a look at the new packaging, the giraffe is doing something almost everywhere.

He moves, plays, jumps, and explores.

We also want to send a message to the children through this.

They’re growing up in a world where the online space is becoming an increasingly big part of their daily lives, so we’d like to invite them back to the real world a little bit. Outdoors. To be active. To play. To explore.

Not because the digital world is inherently bad, but because we believe that a child also needs to run, climb, laugh, get bored, come up with ideas, get muddy, and, in the process, simply be present in what’s happening around them.

That's why a giraffe doesn't just look at the world.

It's in there.

For us, Csinta means more and more than just a fruit snack

When we make Csinta, we start with simplicity.

Fruit. Slow-dried. No unnecessary additives.

What we love about it is that something can be natural and simple, yet still delicious, joyful, and special. It can be a snack, a treat, or a little dessert without having to overcomplicate things.

And over the years, we’ve increasingly felt that we’d like to take this idea beyond just food.

If simpler, more natural foods are good for our bodies, perhaps a little simplicity would be good for our daily lives as well.

More real games.
More time spent outdoors.
More conversations.
Let's pay more attention to each other.
There are many moments when you don't have to do anything—just be together.

That's where our cards came from, too

This is also our goal with the Csinta-themed game cards.

We’d like to offer families some simple ideas to help spark a conversation, a game they can play together, or even a moment spent together that’s a little more meaningful.

Sometimes you don't need anything fancy for this.

All it takes is one good question. A shared task. A walk. A game we come up with together.

To us, the giraffe also represents this world: curiosity, paying attention to one another, connection, and the idea that every now and then it’s worth looking at each other—and at ourselves—from a slightly different perspective.

We hope that in the future, the giraffe will accompany us in more and more places—not just on our packaging, but also in toys, stories, and shared ideas that inspire children and bring family members closer together.

For Body and Soul

Perhaps this is where Csinta's story will continue from here.

What we have tried to convey so far through a bite of fruit— naturalness, simplicity, and joy—we'd like to extend that a little to families' everyday lives as well.

Along with a more natural, simpler meal, we’d also like to add a little emotional well-being: play, physical activity, attention, conversation, and genuine time spent together.

We don't want to make big promises.

Just a reminder of what we all know anyway: it’s good to be together. It’s good to go outside. It’s good to play. It’s good to talk. It’s good to listen to one another.

And sometimes even the tiniest thing is enough to make our days just a little bit better.

A Csinta.
A game.
A question.
A big-hearted giraffe.

We hope you'll like it.

csinta tale

A wonder-full

Life is full of wonders; every morning the sun peeks over the horizon.

Our hair grows by itself.
When we look into each other's eyes, our hearts open up.

Our journey is also full of miracles, ordinary miracles.

When we started our company 20 years ago, it was a big unimaginable journey and we started by making small beeswax candles and went to the other side of the world.

Later, we brightened up the street, the children, and ourselves with colorful butterflies and spirals twirling in the wind, traveling to new places, blessed with new wonders and new children.

Settling down in Csobánka felt like a miracle. When I opened the window, I heard birds chirping, and there were mountains and greenery everywhere.

Once, we decided to try an experiment to see what it was like to ‚cook’ without actually cooking. To enjoy the natural flavors of vegetables, fruits, and seeds.

How we can make similar dishes that we know and love using completely different techniques, perhaps with different ingredients.Peter called it alchemy. Familiar dishes in new ways and new food ideas were brought to the table. It was very exciting to use almonds to make cottage cheese cream, avocados to make chocolate cream for cakes.

Inspired by my grandmother, we once made a big pie from plums. All plums, nothing else.It already looked good and it came together well.

We made the first Chinta from raw fruit, just by drying it, which of course was not called that yet, and we made it just to

Let's stuff it well with poppy seeds and turn it into a delicious bejgli-style pastry.

A few years later, when we were looking for new opportunities, the idea came up to share this wonderfully simple creation with our community. It was very well received at the Advent bazaar at our daughters Luca and Lilla’s school.

The children’s openness to new and natural things was a tremendous source of inspiration. That’s when Csinták’s journey began. A small kitchen, homegrown fruit, experiments in the “witch’s kitchen,” spices, fruits, dehydrators, and techniques (cooking methods).

Children, friends, Waldorf families have helped us, either consciously or unnoticed.Photography, enthusiasm, tables, painting, design, business ideas

lots of conversation Thousands of small and big ideas.

Then a new kitchen and new colleagues who are attentive and dedicated. Investment after investment… A new look designed by our favorite graphic designer, Ági, who had to get used to our slow decision-making, the many changes, and the fact that we don’t let things rest until we’re completely satisfied with the result.

And that's when I needed a name for what this tearable, chewable, fillable, flat, fruit-filled thing was.Flap, sheet, fruit roll-up funnel and then Laci said: 'FUN'.

And we said yes, it's cool 🙂 🙂
